TPLO Surgery
TPLO Surgery (Knee Stabilization for Dogs)
What Is TPLO?
TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) is a surgical procedure used to help dogs recover from a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) — a common cause of hind-leg limping, pain, and difficulty getting around.
Instead of just repairing the damaged ligament, TPLO helps change the way your dog’s knee bears weight so the joint becomes more stable and comfortable after healing.
Like all of our services, we aim to help your pet get back to the happy, active life you both enjoy.
Why TPLO Might Be Recommended
If your dog is showing signs of knee injury — such as limping, stiffness, trouble getting up, or avoiding stairs — your veterinarian may recommend a TPLO evaluation.
We offer TPLO surgery for dogs in the 45–65 lb range, and each case is evaluated individually so we can determine the best care for your pet.
Because every pet is unique, a call or consultation helps us make the right plan for your dog.
How It Works
Here’s what you can expect:
- A pre-surgical evaluation to learn more about your dog’s knee and overall health
- The TPLO procedure, performed safely under anesthesia
- A tailored recovery plan including follow-up visits and comfort care
Our team works to answer your questions and support you through every step of the process.
Caring for Your Dog After Surgery
Recovery from TPLO requires rest and patience. Your dog may need help getting around for a few weeks, and we’ll guide you in ways to make recovery as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Most pets improve gradually over time and return to daily activity with better comfort and strength.
